Summary of Position

Under broad direction of the Financial Service Center Manager, with a focus on customer service, this position provides oversight & compliance of one of the University s Financial Service Centers exercising initiative and independent decision making when interpreting, applying and communicating University policies and procedures. Performs a variety of complex business/accounting duties involving numerous internal, external & grant-funded accounts, which includes approval or review of specific transactions, process problem solving, execution of higher level financial, budget and journal entry transactions and ensuring process and procedure compliance, tracking, and accurate reporting by the team.

  • Associate s degree in Accounting and five years of related experience or high school graduation and seven years of experience in progressively responsible accounting duties or equivalent combination of higher education and experience totaling seven years.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial reporting software.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor s in Accounting or related field.
  • Previous experience in higher education or other not for profit organization in finance and budget management preferred.
  • Financial transaction reconciliation, data entry, and reporting experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
